Pancakes and Pictures – Delia’s Kitchen

Located in historic Oak Park, Delia’s Kitchen offers European inspired breakfast and lunch plates. Health conscious options including vegetarian meals and gluten free breads make Delia’s Kitchen a destination for wholesome, home cooked food. Recently, Delia’s Kitchen underwent a remodel and asked Peterson Picture Company to provide artwork that reflects their fresh fare. We wanted to draw upon the coziness of their dining room along with the soft lighting and down-home feel when selecting art.

A Sunny Bloom (left) and Chiffon Poppy (right) accentuate the freshness of their ingredients as well as inject some springtime  happiness into the kitchen. Served alongside Eggs Benedict and Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, these artworks are sure to bring sunny time vibes to Delia’s. These pieces were printed on Fine Art Paper with a modern contemporary moulding to match the existing decor.

These abstract pieces complement the exposed brick wall as well as provide accents in bright colors getting everyone ready for their day while they eat scrumptious French Toast and Wrap Sandwiches from the kitchen. These pieces were printed on canvas which was stretched to fit a matching moulding. Wrapped canvas elevates art through its texture and color.

Life Saving Ring

Posted November 10, 2014

Every item that we frame at Peterson Picture Co. has intense personal meaning for our customers. Our job is to handle and preserve these items with dignity so that wherever they are displayed they evoke a sense of identity. Usually we get pieces of fine art or a prized tapestry. However, this week we had the honor of framing a customer’s life preserver!

Our customer was lost at sea after being thrown overboard. After spending 24 adrift in the ocean, he was rescued by a team of shipmates. He had them sign the life preserver they used to pull him out which he brought to us for preserving! We used a shadow box to construct an enclosure for the ring. It is protected from dust and other irritants which can damage objects over time. All of our shadow boxes are custom made to fit the piece that you bring in and to highlight the object’s unique meaning.

We used a pulley system with nautical ropes and knots to evoke a sense of being at sea, in addition to suspending the life preserver within the box!

The shipmates signed and wrote well wishes on the ring and the accompanying poster.

May the wind always be in your sails,

Peterson Picture
